Worship Leader: Does Your Noel Feel Like Hell?

Worship Leader: Does Your Noel Feel Like Hell?

OK, so most of us have likely used this well-worn joke:

"Ministry would be great...if it wasn't for the people."

For us worship leaders, I think this variation is "less joke" and "more truth":

"Worship ministry would be great...if it wasn't for Christmas and Easter."

How many of us experience non-stop stress from mid-November until the moment we dismiss people from the Christmas Eve service? We endure rather than enjoy and we survive rather than savor.

Sanity can be a scarce commodity for worship leaders as we trudge through Advent.

This blog post isn't "8 helpful tips for surviving the holidays." Or how to "only work 60 hours a week during the Christmas season." This is a let me know how you're doing - whether you've found some semblance of jingle bell balance this year, or you'd rather jam a yule log in your eye than have to go through another fa la la holiday like this.

This is a blog for you to share your frustrations and stress with people who truly understand. Or, share some good news if you've managed to maintain sanity this year. We want to hear how.

So we're only 10 days or less away from Christmas Eve...how are you holding up?
